Approximately twenty-five thousand residences in Queensland's southeast were left experiencing outages on Monday morning after powerful weather events swept through the area, producing powerful gusts reaching 109km/h.
Massive Frozen Precipitation and Widespread Damage
Residents observed substantial frozen pellets measuring up to 7 centimeters in particular locations. Meteorological experts confirmed that multiple regions across the state had been affected by large hailstones.

Utility workers were working to restore electricity service throughout the affected regions, with dozens of response units activated to handle the numerous electricity disruptions.

Simultaneously, around one thousand households in Victoria also experienced electricity disruptions after Melbourne recorded its most precipitation in a year and a half.
Emergency response teams received 598 emergency reports across the area, mainly for structural issues but also for fallen timber and inundation.

Moist weather were predicted to continue along much of eastern Queensland this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coast.
The following day was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing severe weather risk expected across multiple regions of both regions.

Medical authorities alerted that there was an higher risk of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
