Clair Obscur Fans Convinced Forthcoming DLC May Include Evil Esquie Showdown
Enthusiasts of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 are buzzing regarding the possibility of a unexpected battle featuring a malevolent incarnation of Esquie. These theories arose following the studio announced a complimentary major expansion packed with fresh adversaries and surprises.
What Sparked the Speculation?
Newly released artwork seems to depict a youthful protagonist riding the camp ally advancing on a obscured enemy. This image strongly hints that Esquie could play a key part in the forthcoming adventure.
Adding to the mystery, cast members such as the performer behind the character are recorded recording new dialogue. In the original game, he was shown as a benevolent presence who provided comfort and refreshment to expeditioners. However, hints suggested a hidden immense nature—even a line where he stated, “Trouble occur we get mad.”
Fan Reactions and Social Media Clues
On online forums, fans are enthusiastically debating the prospect of facing a dark Esquie. One commenter exclaimed, “It’s time for the ultimate super boss: Esquie.”
Additionally, the studio updated its avatar to a sinister image of a shadowy character with a strong similarity to Esquie. While this might be related to a seasonal event or community project, the red eyes and jagged mane make it hard not to envision a threatening Esquie.

Expanded Storyline Possibilities
A number of fans suggest that a key character, the sister of the protagonists, could have painted a evil form of Esquie during their youth. According to this idea, she may have used this painting to scare Verso, and currently it could be hunting expeditions in a specific area of the canvas.
Such speculation aligns with established lore, as the character has previously meddled with the realm, altering characters and arranging schemes. Additionally, the return of Clea’s actress fuels belief that her role will grow in the DLC.
Conclusion
Could these theories be exaggerated? Maybe the online art is just holiday-themed entertainment, and the character will stay his gentle usual self in the new update. But, with numerous hints suggesting a darker twist, fans are keenly awaiting what surprises await in Expedition 33’s newest chapter.
